Albany Medical Center

Albany Med is affiliated with Columbia Memorial Health, Saratoga Hospital and Glens Falls Hospital to provide the largest locally governed health system in the region. Combined, these four hospitals offer 1,520 beds, more than 800 physicians and 125 outpatient locations throughout the Capital Region

The Hospital maintains several unique regional resources, including the NYS-designated regional trauma center, the NYS-designated regional prenatal care center, the region’s only bone marrow, kidney, and pancreas transplantation programs, and the area’s only NYS-designated AIDS treatment center.

Ellis Hospital

Ellis is recognized as one of the top 10 hospitals in the country and houses a major intensive care unit. With 438 beds plus an 82-bed nursing home, it is a Schenectady community hospital that is unusual in its scope and depth. Recently, Ellis formed a partnership with Roswell Park to form the Roswell Park Care Network for world class oncology care that has long been associated with the Buffalo based Cancer Center.

Samaritan Hospital associated with St. Peters Health Partners

Located in Troy, Samaritan Hospital is a 350-bed hospital that offers, among many services, including emergency and medical/surgical inpatient care, critical care, maternity services, behavioral health, and the Women’s Health Center. Samaritan’s Cancer Treatment Center serves as a partner with the National Cancer Institute’s Cancer Information Service located at the prestigious Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.

Saratoga Hospital

Saratoga Hospital is a 171-bed community hospital serving Saratoga County that is now associated with the Albany Medical Center Group of 4 hospitals that serve Saratoga and the surrounding area. It ranks among the top third of U.S. hospitals and offers a complete range of medical services.

In addition to all of these hospitals, there are a broad range of affiliated Urgent Care Centers throughout the Capital District, most affiliated with one of the large groups, either the St. Peters Hospital Group, the Albany Med Hospital Group, or the Community Care group. The capital district has incredible medical services and most areas have well-equipped EMT services through local police and fire departments.
